WATCH: During Last Weekend of Early Vote, Senator Ossoff Delivers Church Remarks Encouraging Georgians to Make Their Voices Heard

Sen. Ossoff: “What we are already seeing in early voting is that the people’s answer is defiant and determined and unprecedented. We are seeing record-shattering youth turnout for a midterm election in the state of Georgia.”

Decatur, Ga. — Today, Senator Jon Ossoff delivered remarks at The dReam Center Church of Atlanta to encourage Georgians to make their voices heard and vote early in person by October 30th.

On the first Sunday of early voting last weekend, the Jon Ossoff for Senate campaign released a video celebrating Souls to the Polls, a longstanding tradition rooted in the Civil Rights Movement that fought to secure the right to vote. Senator Jon Ossoff also voted early in person on October 13, the first day of early voting, to encourage Georgians to join him in making their voices heard at the polls.

Early in-person voting ends on Friday, October 30th. Georgians can find their nearest polling location at iwillvote.com.

Sen. Ossoff: “The time has come to wield the power granted to us by our Constitution and rebuke this obscenity. Now, [Trump] sent his spies and his agents to Fulton County, Georgia to seize ballots. Did you see it? Let’s be clear. There’s only one man who tried to commit voter fraud in the state of Georgia in 2020, and it was Donald Trump when he called up Brad Raffensperger and demanded that he ‘find’ him exactly the number of votes he needed to win in a state that he had lost. Do you remember that? And why Fulton County? It’s the same reason he’s obsessed with Philly. It’s the same reason he’s obsessed with Detroit. It’s because for this committed lifelong racist, the fact that Black voters were instrumental to his defeat is even more offensive than the defeat itself. But Bishop, he made a mistake. He made a mistake launching an attack on voting rights here in the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement. He came to the spiritual and the civic center of the very Black history they seek to erase to attack your voting rights.”
