New Bombshell Reporting Exposes Collins’ Continued Ties to White Nationalism, Promotion of Political Violence, Neo-Nazi Ideology
The Washington Post: “A congressional staffer who has worked with four representatives over the past four years, including GOP Senate hopeful Rep. Mike Collins (R-Georgia) […] denigrates female politicians, promotes political violence, calls for an end to democracy and laments the existence of civil rights laws, among other views.”
Atlanta, Ga. — Just one day before Election Day, new bombshell Washington Post reporting is exposing GOP U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins’ continued ties to white nationalism, political violence, and neo-Nazi ideology.
The reporting details shocking and previously unreported comments from Jonathon Hatzistefanou, a former Mike Collins congressional staffer. According to The Washington Post, Hatzistefanou “posted that the ‘only thing that matters’ is pushing back against the multiracial democracy that developed after the civil rights movement, which the post said has had ‘unfathomable consequences.’” The Washington Post also reveals that Hatzistefanou “described the civil rights movement of the 1960s as a mistake, writing ‘Democrats sold their country down the river for progressive moral superiority in the 1960s,’ and complained that many Republicans were still committed to civil rights.”
The story also unearthed previous comments, explaining that Hatzistefanou quote-tweeted the Jewish Senate Minority Leader and “suggested that he should be subject to trials like those that Nazis faced postwar,” calling for “Nuremberg tribunals for every elected official and bureaucrat […].” Hatzistefanou also called women “‘foids’, a derogatory term for women, short for ‘female humanoid’”, described Islam as a “desert slave religion,” and, according to the Post, discussed “‘bioleninism,’ a fringe theory that argues the political left maintains its power through organizing a ‘biological underclass,’ a phrase that usually refers to ethnic minorities, gay people and disabled people.” The Collins campaign did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment.
Senator Ossoff continues to build incredible momentum heading into Election Day by gaining bipartisan support across the state, as Democrats head into November unified at the top of the ticket. Meanwhile, Collins’ campaign continues to be plagued by a number of controversies, including shocking Daily Beast reporting unearthing that the bigot congressman promoted “campaign-appointed leaders” with criminal charges that include heinous crimes against children, including “cruelty to children, sexual battery, and family violence” and have ties to “a far-right group founded by […] a former Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazi National Alliance leader” that has been “classified as a white nationalist hate group.”
Collins remains embattled by his extensive ties to white nationalism after a ‘summer of scandal’ revealed that a Collins’ former staffer had uplifted Nazi imagery and depicted himself in a costume of the Ku Klux Klan — all while a neo-Nazi with “close ties” to Collins continues to produce and spread troubling white nationalist propaganda from his property. Collins’ office had previously briefed Nick Fuentes and Richard Spencer, some of the most notorious white supremacists in America who attended the Unite the Right hate rally in Charlottesville, on its efforts to free a Holocaust denier from jail. Collins also sparked outrage over his antisemitic harassment of a Jewish reporter and praise for a young man who harassed a Black woman by making monkey sounds.

KEY EXCERPTS
- A congressional staffer who has worked with four representatives over the past four years, including GOP Senate hopeful Rep. Mike Collins (R-Georgia), appears closely tied to an anonymous social media account that denigrates female politicians, promotes political violence, calls for an end to democracy and laments the existence of civil rights laws, among other views, a Washington Post analysis of the account found.
- Details shared in posts on the account connect it to 25-year-old Jonathon Hatzistefanou, who […] served as a former staff assistant for Collins, the Georgia Republican locked in a bitter fight for a Senate seat with Sen. Jon Ossoff (D). […]
- Collins’s office and his campaign did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment, including detailed questions about the account’s content, whether Collins’s office knew of the account […].
- Though anonymous, the X account has made its way into the feeds of some influential users. It has more than 1,000 followers on X, and several posts have gained online traction. A post criticizing a Republican’s immigration bill, now deleted, gained hundreds of thousands of views and was reposted by conservative influencers Mike Cernovich and Matt Walsh. The account also is followed by other Republicans who work on Capitol Hill, including a staffer for a member of leadership and a spokesman for Collins’s campaign. […]
- The House does not have a blanket social media policy, but its code of conduct that applies to staffers says they must “behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”
- Much scrutiny has been directed toward people close to Collins, who trails Ossoff in the Georgia Senate race. In May, the publication Slate reported that Collins’s then-chief of staff took part in a group chat with White nationalists. That chief of staff told Slate he was solely acting in his personal capacity. The same month, a campaign operative for Collins reportedly made a joke about the alleged rape of the wife to an adviser for a PAC supporting his primary opponent. […]
- In August, The Post reported that a different former Collins staffer posted Nazi and KKK imagery. That staffer said his posts were a joke. CNN also reported that Collins’s son-in-law shared Nazi imagery online. […]
- Ossoff has invoked that history in recent debates with Collins, including accusing him of hiring “half the Third Reich.” […]
- The account has posted misogynistic comments about women in politics, including calling Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) an “old hag” and referring to Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) as a “bitch.” A post in June argued that Turning Point USA, the political nonprofit founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, employed too many women. That post was deleted after The Post contacted Hatzistefanou on Thursday. Another post from September 2024 calls a female former diplomat a “fat pig.”
- The account also has used derogatory terms to refer to immigrants and perceived political opponents, especially those who are nonwhite. One post from February 2024, when Hatzistefanou worked for Collins, describes Islam as a “desert slave religion.” 0UrsaMajor0 also has posted that democracy should end and be replaced with authoritarianism.
- Hatzistefanou appears to have another, inactive, public X account with the username JonathonHatz. The Post located archived posts where this account retweeted Nick Fuentes, the White nationalist whose fans call themselves “groypers,” twice. This account also posted a homophobic slur. Archives of that account list the same birthday and home state as Hatzistefanou’s.
- “I’d rather be a white supremacist than a degenerate impoverished minority,” a JonathonHatz post from June 2017 reads. […]
- The account’s author has posted a steady stream of extreme and vulgar posts about immigrants, women, center-right Republicans and democracy.
- The account has repeatedly lamented that America has become more ethnically diverse through immigration and retweeted posts several times that suggest that the country’s White people have been “ethnically cleansed.”
- On Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year, the account posted that the “only thing that matters” is pushing back against the multiracial democracy that developed after the civil rights movement, which the post said has had “unfathomable consequences.”
- The account described the civil rights movement of the 1960s as a mistake, writing “Democrats sold their country down the river for progressive moral superiority in the 1960s” […].
- Other posts discuss “bioleninism,” a fringe theory that argues the political left maintains its power through organizing a “biological underclass,” a phrase that usually refers to ethnic minorities, gay people and disabled people. Some of those posts were made while Hatzistefanou still worked at Collins’s office as a staff assistant.
- “Entropic slime. That’s all the left is. Biomass propagation. Lower order goo,” one post from May 2025 reads.
- The account posted several times about the need for American democracy — which one April 2024 post described as “so gay lmfao” — to end and to be replaced by a monarchy or a dictatorship to bring about a right-wing government. The poster also frequently discusses Curtis Yarvin, a blogger and thinker popular in some Silicon Valley subcultures who has advocated replacing democracy with a dictatorship.
- One post suggests that Congress, where Hatzistefanou worked at the time, should lose all its power.
- “The future we hope for is dependent on Congress becoming a museum,” a post from May reads.
- The account once quote-tweeted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) and suggested that he should be subject to trials like those that Nazis faced postwar. “Nuremberg tribunals for every elected official and bureaucrat who pushed even the notion of ‘trans kids,’” a post from June 2025 reads.
- “I would pay to watch this f—-t be fed his teeth,” the account wrote about a longtime researcher on far-right movements, using an antigay slur. Other posts also directed the slur toward a former Republican senator and former vice president Mike Pence. […]
- Hatzistefanou wrote an op-ed in 2020 asking for votes for his student government campaign at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. In the op-ed, he likened social justice to cancer. […]
- Along with posting extreme views, the account’s author has expressed resentment about how Republicans might receive those views. In response to a story about a Trump administration official estimating that a high percentage of young Republican staffers are potentially followers of Nick Fuentes, the account argued that was just an excuse so Republicans could promote more average-intelligence “foids,” a derogatory term for women, short for “female humanoid.”
- “This is also a means to permanently block gen z, particularly young men, from influence in the GOP,” the post from April states, adding that the “most toe sucking GOP senior staff” would rather promote women “instead of any comptent [sic] gen z men.” That post has been deleted since Thursday.
- The author has also criticized Fuentes at times, and posted about being of partial Jewish heritage.
- The account repeatedly praised Collins, including for Collins’s use of the slur “tranny” to refer to transgender people in December 2023, when Hatzistefanou was working for the Georgia congressman. “Mike Collins single-handedly fighting the woke mob by normalizing the word tranny again,” the account wrote. “We are so back.”
